Chanthaburi is a lovely province located on the eastern coast of Thailand. It features a wonderful mix of landscapes and cultures. Since 2016, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has introduced the 12 Must-Visit Cities project to inspire tourists to explore more of the charming secondary cities. Chanthaburi is a secondary city that grows more appealing and popular each year, known for its gems, fruit, and a laid-back lifestyle.

Phetchaburi is associated with the delightful Khanom Mor Kaeng, lush palm groves, the majestic Phra Nakhon Khiri situated on a hill, and the lively Cha-am Beach, which attracts numerous visitors each weekend. But in fact, Phetchaburi has a lot more to discover.
This city has a rich history that has flourished over the years. Phetchaburi serves as a vibrant cultural hub linking the central and southern regions. This place is brimming with charm, featuring arts and culture that have preserved their original identity. From ancient temples tracing back to the Dvaravati period to an amazing array of local flavors and the historic town revival established from community collaboration, it all resonates with the essence of the past.
Best time to travel: Summer, from March to April, when you can enjoy the refreshing experience of Khao Chae. With any luck, it may coincide with the Phra Nakhon Khiri-Muang Phet event, an exciting annual celebration that takes place in Phetchaburi Province from February to March for ten days and ten nights.
In winter, from December to February, the temperatures are cool, and the sunlight is lovely, creating an ideal setting for leisurely walks and photographing street art.
